During the 90’s the Stockton Athletic Program had impressive results and the momentum continues to build. In 2001, the men's soccer team captured the college's first NCAA team championship. The Ospreys' athletic resume is imposing with the NCAA men's soccer crown and nine individual NCAA track & field national champions plus multiple NJAC championships, Final Four appearances, NCAA tournaments, ECAC titles, and All-Americans.

Spectators are encouraged to become part of the action and provide that “home field advantage.” You are guaranteed to see teams and student-athletes competing at the highest level. Stockton participates in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), which is one of the most competitive Division III conferences in the nation. The NJAC boasts several national champions in baseball, basketball, softball, and soccer. Conference games routinely determine national rankings and entrance into the NCAA Tournament.

In 2000, the $16 million Sports Center opened for business. The facility provides the campus community with a place to cheer, workout, practice and compete indoors. The lighted outdoor complex brings the excitement of night games for men’s soccer, women’s soccer and lacrosse. In the fall the top-ranked men’s and women’s soccer teams will be working their way back to the NCAA Tournament by taking on some of the best teams in the country. The cross country teams will be training to compete for their first NJAC championship. The women’s volleyball team will be setting its sights on another 20-win season while battling some of the strongest teams in the East. Field hockey and women's tennis, the two newest additions to the Stockton program, also will be in action.

During the winter the men’s and women’s basketball teams will take center stage in the tough NJAC. The men’s basketball team is among the most successful programs in the country over the last 15 years. Winter is also indoor track season and Osprey men and women will be competing up and down the East Coast for national prominence.

Outdoor sports return with the onset of spring. Hard-hitting action comes your way as our lacrosse team battles for its ninth postseason appearance in the last 10 years. Baseball and softball clash with the top teams in the country in the NJAC. The women’s rowing team also hits the water, working its way to the Dad Vail Championships in Philadelphia. The outdoor track teams will be sprinting, throwing, and jumping as they make a run for the top of the NJAC .

The success of the athletic program has become an excellent national showpiece for the college. National exposure has also been gained by hosting the women’s Olympic Basketball Team, and the Saudi Arabian National Soccer Team training camps. The arrival of the upgraded indoor and outdoor sports facilities will embellish similar opportunities in the future. It’s truly an exciting time to be involved with Stockton Athletics.
