LISA CHATMAN NAMED NJAC WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE
OF THE WEEK

Richard Stockton senior Lisa Chatman (Voorhees/ Eastern) was named the NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week yesterday. Chatman earned the award by finishing second out of 10 competitors at the Ursinus Pentathlon on January 24. Chatman registered a total of 3,192 points in the five events and placed second behind only a Division I athlete from Coppin State (MD).

Chatman won three of the five pentathlon events. She was the top performer in the long jump (16’10.50”), shot put (35’5”) and 800-meter run (2:32.11). Chatman also tied for third in the high jump (4’9.50”) and placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.11 seconds). She was competing in the pentathlon for just the first time this season and second time in her career.

Chatman was named the NJAC Outstanding Female Field Athlete at last year’s NJAC Indoor Championships after earning all-conference honors in the 55-meter hurdles, 800-meter run, long jump and high jump. During the Fall 2006 semester, Chatman captured a spot on the NJAC All-Conference Second Team in cross country and was named the NJAC Women’s Runner of the Week twice.
