After competing in the first meet of the indoor track& field season, four Richard Stockton student-athletes were recognized with NJAC weekly awards today. Rich Luettchau (Middlesex/Middlesex) was named the NJAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Chris Huch (Tuckerton/Pinelands) was selected the NJAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Jessica Matthews (Toms River/TR North) was chosen the NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) was named the NJAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

The Stockton men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams competed in the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Relays at Southern Connecticut State University yesterday. Luettchau coasted to a 41-second victory in the men’s mile race walk with a time of 7:27 and Huch won the high jump by clearing a height of 6’2.75”.

In the women’s high jump, Shepherd earned second place at her first college meet by clearing the bar at 5’3.75” while Matthews followed in third place at a height of 5’1.75”. The CTC Relays featured participants from NCAA Division I, II and III institutions. Stockton finished fifth in men’s competition and sixth in women’s events.
