RICH LUETTCHAU SELECTED TO ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT II TEAM

Richard Stockton senior Rich Luettchau (Middlesex/ Middlesex) (race)walked, ran and studied his way to a spot on the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team. The squad was chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Luettchau was a History major with a 3.96 grade point average who graduated summa cum laude from Stockton on May 6. He collected Academic All-District II honors for the second consecutive year.

Luettchau competed in cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field for Stockton. During the fall 2006 cross country season, he registered four top-ten finishes and was named the NJAC Men’s Runner of the Week three times. In the spring, Luettchau won two racewalk events and finished fourth in the racewalk at the Penn Relays for the second straight time.

In addition to his selections to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II teams in 2006 and 2007, Luettchau also was a three-time NJAC All-Academic Team honoree, earning NJAC All-Academic First Team nods the past two years and an NJAC All-Academic Second Team spot in 2005. Luettchau now will be a candidate for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men’s Track/Cross Country Team, which will be announced on June 25.

The CoSIDA District II College Division consists of all non-Division I schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Nominees must be a starter or important reserve with at least sophomore academic and athletic standing and a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
