Richard Stockton senior Rich Luettchau (Middlesex/ Middlesex)
was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America®
Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team. Luettchau
was selected to the College Division Second Team. He registered an impressive
3.96 cumulative grade point average as a History major and graduated summa
cum laude from Stockton on May 6.
Luettchau was a year-round student-athlete, running cross country in the fall and competing in indoor track & field during the winter and outdoor track & field in the spring. He posted four top-ten finishes and was named the NJAC Men’s Runner of the Week three times during the 2006 cross country season. This spring, Luettchau won two racewalk events and finished fourth in the Olympic Development 10K racewalk at the Penn Relays for the second consecutive year. Academically, Luettchau was a three-time NJAC All-Academic Team selection (2005-07), including First Team twice, and two-time ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II honoree (2006-07). He possessed the highest grade point average of all Stockton male student-athletes this year. Luettchau became Stockton’s third Academic All-American, joining fellow track & field competitors Kim Marino (2004) and Jaime Taylor (2005). The Academic All-America® program annually honors over 1,600 male and female student-athletes who have succeeded at the highest level on the playing field and in the classroom. Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA, the College Sports Information Directors of America. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in all NCAA championship sports and divisions. |
