INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
The Stockton men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams won a total of 13 events throughout the course of the 2006-07 season. Tony DeFeo led the way with three victories in the pole vault, followed by Audra Schappell with two wins in the shot put and Rich Luettchau with a pair of top finishes in the racewalk.

The Ospreys were consistently strong in the weight events with Schappell, Katie Dirkes and Stephanie Aromando on the women’s side and Augie and Anthony Siciliano in men’s competition. Stockton also excelled in the high jump with the women’s duo of Lisa Shepherd and Jessica Matthews as well as men’s jumper Chris Huch. Lisa Chatman continued to display her overall ability by competing in two pentathlons and several events individually. The men’s pole vault also was an area of strength with DeFeo, Chris Kerr and Chris Markey.

Led by four individual champions, the Stockton women’s team placed second at the NJAC Championships. The event winners at the conference meet were Audra Schappell (shot put), Katie Dirkes (pole vault), Stephanie Aromando (weight throw) and Lisa Shepherd (high jump). The Stockton men’s team finished fifth in the NJAC Championships, led by pole vault winner Tony DeFeo.

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
The Stockton men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams added to their tradition of success in 2007. Freshman Lisa Shepherd extended the program’s current streak of producing at least one All-American to seven years by placing eighth in the high jump at the NCAA Championships. During the season, Shepherd won the high jump at five of nine meets and tied for first once. She was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week three times and NJAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week once.

Senior Audra Schappell dominated the throwing events with six wins in discus, two in hammer throw and one in shot put. She won all three events and was named the Most Outstanding Female Athlete at the NJAC Championships, in which Stockton finished second for the third year in a row. At the conference meet, Ronika Eckart won the 100-meter hurdles and Lisa Shepherd won the high jump. Overall, Schappell was named the Women’s NJAC Field Athlete of the Week seven times and sophomore Stephanie Aromando earned the honor once. Freshman hurdler Katelyn Reiter was chosen NJAC Rookie of the Week once.

Sophomore Chris Markey led the Stockton men’s team to a fourth-place finish at the NJAC Championships by winning the pole vault. Markey also won the pole vault at the CTC Championships. Brothers Anthony and Augie Siciliano were consistent performers in the throwing events, with Anthony Siciliano capturing one win apiece in the shot put and discus. Chris Huch notched two victories in the high jump.

Senior Rich Luettchau won the racewalk at two meets and also finished fourth in the Olympic Development 10K Racewalk at the famous Penn Relays. Senior Lisa Chatman and Audra Schappell also competed at the Penn Relays, with Chatman placing eighth in the College Women’s Heptathlon and Schappell finishing 25th in the College Women’s Discus.
