NJ Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect 2025 Conference
October 21, 2025
9:30am — 3:30pm
Doors Open at 8:00am
Location: Hilton East Brunswick
3 Tower Center Blvd, East Brunswick, NJ
Join us October 21, 2025, from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM at the Hilton East Brunswick for a day of connection, growth, and hope, as we explore ways to strengthen our own personal resilience and improve the healing potential of the communities in which we all live!
Hosted by the New Jersey Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, the NJ Department of Children and Families and the Child Welfare Education Institute at Stockton University, “Connecting Communities, Rooted in Resilience” is a day-long conference during which we’ll hear from national and state experts who are championing resilient communities, who are promoting collective impact strategies, and who are addressing the social determinants of health and wellbeing, to help families cut through the noise and stress and connect with each other, and with community resources.
Working in the social services sector and the child welfare arena in particular, we know that stressful and challenging times can destabilize families and disrupt their nurturing potential. When times are difficult, that’s when we need families to be at their most resilient, and we need programming and strategies that empower and uplift, while connecting families to supports in-community—whether that support comes from other families, or public and private resources.
As helping professionals who live in these same communities, we are not immune to the same stress and fear that uncertainty can bring. In order to be effective for the families we serve, we need tools and strategies to support personal growth. The conference will offer two national speakers who will uplift and provide practical tools and advice for building a resilience toolkit.
We look forward to seeing you there and can’t wait to connect!

The New Jersey Department of Children and Families is the state’s first Cabinet-level agency devoted exclusively to serving and supporting at-risk children and families. It is made up of about 6,600 staff who are focused on and committed to assisting and empowering residents to be safe, healthy and connected.
The purpose of the New Jersey Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect is to study and develop recommendations regarding the most effective means of improving the quality and scope of child protective and preventative services provided or supported by State government.
The Child Welfare Education Institute (CWEI) at Stockton University is facilitating logistics for this event. The mission of CWEI is to support the ongoing transformation of the public child welfare system through social work education and professional training. Our vision is safety and well-being for the children and families of New Jersey.
The New Jersey Children’s Trust Fund (NJ CTF) is a public-private partnership created by law to fund child abuse and neglect prevention, identification, and treatment programs in New Jersey. The New Jersey Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect oversees and approves expenditures from the fund, with priority given to evidence-based and evidence-informed prevention programs and innovative initiatives. The NJ CTF is primarily supported through donations via an income tax check-off, private donations, and corporate giving for the purposes of preventing child maltreatment in New Jersey.
