PLATO'S DIALOGUES
This course involves an in-depth study of the dialogues of Plato
with a concentration upon the early and middle dialogues. The course
examines Plato’s development of the theory of the Forms and the manner in
which this theory weaves together metaphysical, ethical, ontological, and
epistemological concerns. In particular, we will study the intersection
of knowledge and action in the development of virtue. We will study the
following dialogues: Apology, Charmides, Ion, Lesser Hippias,
Euthydemus, Protagoras, Georgias, Meno, Lysias, Symposium, Republic, and
Phaedrus.
