Benchmarking Data

The data analyses below provide a point of reference for future assessment of Stockton students’ success acquiring ELO-related skills and knowledge. The data will be used as a yardstick to compare results on future administrations of these instruments and, therefore, to determine the increase in students’ ELO proficiency while at Stockton. The instruments described here are administered regularly at Stockton, except for PARCC, which is administered by the state of New Jersey to graduating high school students.

  • The Academic Program Curriculum Map and Assessment Matrix Audit, 2015-2017, presents a snapshot of program assessment plans linked to ELOs.
  • The ELO Assessment Benchmarking Matrix provides a visual rendering of which instruments, currently in use, can provide data related to students’ ELO achievements.
  • The IDEAs and ELOs presents alignment of IDEA objectives to ELOs and calculation of students’ perceived ELO proficiency.
  • HEIghten, an ETS suite of assessment instruments, provides an overview of students’ success with Critical Thinking, Communication Skills, and Quantitative Reasoning.
  • PARCC, the test required for graduating high school seniors in New Jersey, provides data indicating Atlantic county students’ average score on communication skills and quantitative reasoning prior to attending college.
  • The QUAD study reports on Stockton students’ growth in their ability to work with numbers from first to senior year.
  • The Beliefs, Events, and Values Inventory (BEVI) measures students’ growth on various indicators related to diversity, cultural competence, and Adapting to Change.
  • The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), a survey administered across campus types, gauges students’ involvement in their own learning and so provides a glimpse into students’ motivations to learn and their engagement in academic and co-curricular life.
