List of Graduate Scholarships

Awards listed below are either endowed scholarships or are awards which have been given consecutively over the past three years.

By applying for one of these scholarships, a student is automatically considered for all awards listed for which he or she meets the established criteria.


The Achieve Physical Therapy & Fitness Scholarship
An award available to a qualified applicant enrolled in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program.

Elizabeth Alton Endowed Memorial Scholarship
The Elizabeth Alton Endowed Memorial Scholarship is an endowment established by members of the Stockton University Foundation Board to honor the memory of Elizabeth Barstow Alton, a Trustee and founder of the University through her tireless efforts to convince the New Jersey State Board of Higher Education to build an institution of higher learning in Atlantic County. The award benefits both undergraduate and graduate students of Stockton University.

American Studies MA Study Abroad Award
Awards available to qualified students participating in study tours through the American Studies Master of Arts program.

Tara Jean Barker ’06 DPT ’08 Memorial Scholarship
An award available to qualified graduate students within the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program.

The Joseph Berkman, and Michael and Sarah Chipkin Holocaust/Genocide Studies Award
Provides scholarships to matriculated students enrolled in the Masters Program in Holocaust Genocide Studies.

Dr. Richard E. Bjork Memorial Graduate Study Award 
An award available to a qualified applicant pursuing Graduate Studies work.

Mary Ellen Brophy ’86 Memorial Scholarship
The Mary Ellen Brophy ’86 Memorial Scholarship is an annual award established by David Brophy ’83, husband of Mary "Ellen" Brophy ’86, and Erin O’Hanlon Keys ’96, friend of Ellen Brophy ’86, along with other friends in memory of Ellen Brophy.  Ellen valued her education, both in and out of the classroom and believed it was instrumental in her career. She was passionate about helping others and would be proud to know that this scholarship in her name will aid students pursuing their education. It is the intent of the donors that the Mary Ellen Brophy ’86 Memorial Scholarship be used to provide an annual award of up to $1,000 to benefit a full-time undergraduate or a graduate student at Stockton University who demonstrates the need for financial aid as per FAFSA.

Frances N. Christian Memorial Endowment Nursing Scholarship 
An award available to a qualified applicant with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a demonstrated commitment to the profession of nursing.  This scholarship is available to Undergraduate or Graduate Studies applicants.

Bess Kathrins School of Health Sciences Scholarship
The Bess Kathrins School of Health Sciences Scholarship is an annual award established on the occasion of Bess Kathrins retirement by colleagues, alumni, and friends honoring her over thirty years of service to Stockton University. This award is for the benefit of undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Health Sciences with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The Lynne Kesselman ’82/M.A.’05 and Harvey Kesselman ’79 Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Lynne Kesselman ’82/M.A.’05 and Harvey Kesselman ’79 Endowed Scholarship Fund is an endowment established by Dr. and Mrs. Harvey Kesselman to benefit both undergraduate and graduate students of Stockton University.

Melvin J. Levine Memorial Scholarship
An award available to a qualified student in good academic standing.

Master of Social Work (MSW) Scholarship
An award available to a qualified graduate student majoring in Social Work.

Dr. M. Alysia Mastrangelo Physical Therapy Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. M. Alysia Mastrangelo Physical Therapy Endowed Scholarship is an endowment established by Mary Ann Green Mastrangelo in honor of her daughter, M. Alysia Mastrangelo, PT, PhD, MS, FACSM Professor of Physical Therapy Stockton University.  This scholarship is intended for a graduate or undergraduate who embodies the desire to continually learn and excel in the field of physical therapy. The recipient should epitomize a joyful attitude in reaching out to help other people. Recipients are expected to be in the DPT program, good academic standing, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Mary Ann Green Mastrangelo Scholarship
The Mary Ann Green Mastrangelo Scholarship is an endowment established by M. Alysia Mastrangelo, PT, PhD, MS, FACSM Professor of Physical Therapy Stockton University to honor her mother, Mary Ann Green Mastrangelo.  The scholarship is intended for a graduate or undergraduate pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy or Studies in the Arts.  Recipients are expected to be in the DPT program, good academic standing, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. 

The Shanon Newberry Physical Therapy Scholarship Endowment
An award available to a qualified applicant in his/her fifth or sixth year of study in the Doctorate in Physical Therapy program.

The Physical Therapy Faculty Scholarship Endowment
An award available to qualified applicants in his/her final year of the Physical Therapy program who exhibit a commitment to community service.

The Bea and Harry Ross Scholarship Endowment 
An award available to a qualified upperclass or graduate applicant.

Dr. Jo Frances Stow Scholarship for Public Health
An award available to a qualified undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in the field of Public Health.
