Stockton Faculty Present at Collaborating Across Borders V

Collaborating Across Borders

Collaborating Across Borders V (CAB V) is the premeir North American conference on Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) in health and social care. CAB V was held September 29-October 3, 2015 in Roanoke, VA. This community of individuals, professions, and organizations is "committed to collaboration as the best way of providing quality care and better health outcomes."  Several faculty represented Stockton at this prestigious conference by presenting the outcomes of our SHS Common Reading:

Oral Presentation - Fostering Interprofessional Learning Through a Common Reading: "My Stroke of Insight".  Patricia Quinn McGinnis, Mary Padden-Denmead, Margaret Slusser and Mary Lou Galantino.

During the Fall 2014 semester, faculty and students in the SHS adopted a common reading "My Stroke of Insght" by Jill Bolte Taylor.  This innovative IPE activity established a sense of community among undergraduate and graduate programs and fostered understanding  of IP collaboration.  In November, a University wide panel discussion moderated by Mary Padden-Denmead illustrated the core competencies of IPCP.  Panel members included: Margaret Slusser, Lisa Calamidas, Tim Haresign, Patricia McGinnis, Christine Gayda Chelder, Stacy Cassel, Mary Lou Galantino, Megan Foti, and Guia Calicdan Apostle.
