New Hire Paperwork & Links
All of the paperwork below will be discussed in depth during New Hire Orientation.
I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Process
The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires employers to verify the eligibility of individuals for employment, to preclude the unlawful hiring, or recruiting, of aliens who are not authorized to work in the United States. Employers are subject to civil or criminal penalties if they do not comply with this Act. All employees (both citizen and non-citizen) hired after November 6, 1986 must complete an I9 form within the first three (3) days of employment to verify that he/she is authorized to work in the United States. If a new employee is unable to provide documentation of his/her eligibility to lawfully accept employment in the United States, the individual may not be employed or the individual’s employment must be terminated. Individuals who provide work authorization documentation that contains an expiration date (passports, visas, etc.), must provide additional documentation prior to or on the expiration date of their documentation in order to remain employed. If additional documentation is not received, the individual’s employment must be terminated.
