Galloway Township, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey's Holocaust Resource Center announced a Winter 2005 Open House for Educators to be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005.

Teachers, grades Kindergarten to 12, are encouraged to explore with the Holocaust Resource Center staff the educational resource materials available for classroom use. Sample lesson plans and units will be available. The materials can be used to assist educators in implementing the NJ Holocaust and Genocide curriculum mandated by the state of New Jersey in 1994.  The Center's staff will be available all day (9:00 AM-6:00 PM) to welcome and assist educators.  Professional Development Hours are available for New Jersey teachers.

This open house is free and resource materials will be distributed.  No pre-registration is required.  Stockton's Holocaust Resource Center is located on the second floor of the library in Building F.  Parking Lots 2 and 3 are recommended.  For those educators who are participating in the Holocaust Awareness Awards project titled "Using Holocaust Survivors for a Resource for Studying the Holocaust, materials that focus on this theme will be available.  In addition, participants will learn how to integrate activities into their communication with actual survivors, providing another resource for studying the Holocaust.
