Dr. Mary Ellen Florence

Galloway, NJ Dr. Mary Ellen Florence, Associate Professor of Nursing and 20 year veteran at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, will be remembered at a memorial service on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 4:30 pm in the Townsend Residential Life Center on the Pomona campus. Dr. Florence passed away on July 13, 2004 in Richmond, Virginia after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

 

Dr. Florence was born in Chicago and grew up on Long Island, New York and in Fort Worth, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Texas Christian University, and both a Masters and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. Florence made many contributions to the development of the nursing program at Stockton. She was admired and deeply respected by her colleagues and students, and was a devoted teacher who is dearly missed by all.
