Offshore Wind Company to Open ECO Center

Atlantic City Mayor and Stockton alumnus Marty Small cuts the ribbon for the new ECO Center with representatives of Stockton, Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind LLC and the N.J. Board of Public Utilities.Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind LLC held a ribbon-cutting for its new Atlantic City Educational and Community Outreach Center on Monday, Aug. 31, on the Boardwalk in front of the Stockton University Residential Complex retail site where the new center will be located.

“This is a very special location,” said Chris Hart, Atlantic Shores managing director and president. “The Atlantic City Boardwalk has national prominence.”

Atlantic Shores will dedicate the space as a new Educational and Community Outreach Center, serving as its primary location to host informational events for the local community around its upcoming offshore wind development plans. The site is currently under renovation and the official public opening will be announced following COVID-19 guidelines.

Resources Available to Staff, Faculty 

There are many resources and best practices being made available to staff and faculty working remotely that can be found by visiting Information Technology’s website

In addition to assistance with technology available from ITS, Stockton provides faculty and teaching staff with professional development, training, teaching ideas, resources and individual consultations via the Center for Learning Design

Athletics has posted an FAQ page for student athletes and others who use the facilities.

Additionally, Athletics is encouraging students to Take it Outside with expanded outdoor recreation activities including Cornhole, Washers and KanJam available in front of the Sports Center from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. New horseshoe pits are on field 2 behind the Housing 2 dorms. Tournaments are planned.

Students will continue moving into the Galloway and Atlantic City campuses this week. All students, faculty and staff are reminded to wear masks and follow safety protocols on the Return to Campus website.

The Student Assistance Resources page has information for students whose academic progress may be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.   

A new email signature with the “Soar Safely, Ospreys” logo has been added to the URM brand-guide.

Employees traveling out of state should check the New Jersey travel advisory list to see if you are visiting a state that requires a 14 day self-quarantine upon returning to New Jersey.  Dependent on operational need and the nature of your work responsibilities (as determined by the Office of Human Resources and your Divisional Executive) you may be required to utilize Families First Coronavirus Response Act leave and/or accrued leave.

President’s Address to Faculty, Staff President’s Address to Faculty, Staff

The Fall Faculty Conference and President Harvey Kesselman’s Address to Staff were held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, via Zoom. Topics covered included race and social injustice initiatives, COVID-19 updates, a look at fall enrollment and an update on finance. 

Interim Provost Michelle McDonald addressed faculty, as well as Kathy Klein, Center for Teaching and Learning Design; Donni Allison, director for Strategic Initiatives; Sheilah Vance, chief officer for EEO and Compliance; and Adrian Wiggins, director Campus Public Safety.

Enrollment Verification Reminder for Faculty

As the fall semester is quickly approaching, faculty are reminded to confirm student attendance at the beginning of each course after the add/drop period. The Office of Financial Aid will use this information to make adjustments to student financial aid disbursements based upon the confirmed number of credits.

Each instructor will be responsible for verifying student attendance or participation in an academic activity. For online courses, faculty are reminded to include an assignment or discussion activity during the drop/add period so that the student's attendance can be confirmed.

Don’t Forget to Renew Vehicle Parking Registration

🚗 Everyone is required to register their vehicle(s) for the 2020-21 academic year by Sept. 8. The online system may self-propagate the fields once your license plate has been entered.
