Apply for Graduation
All students must apply for graduation. The application must be submitted at the beginning of the term in which you plan to complete your degree requirements. This application is required, regardless of whether or not you plan on participating in the graduation commencement ceremony. Conferral of a degree cannot occur if an application is not received. The graduation application begins the academic certification and degree conferral process.
Students who have applied for graduation by the established deadline and have successfully completed all academic requirements are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony. Students who do not apply for graduation by the deadline forfeit their inclusion in the commencement ceremony and program.
How to Apply for Graduation
The Application for Graduation is located on the goStockton Portal on the Student Services Tab in the Registration Tools box. The link is located in
Registration Tools. The graduation fee is used to cover the cost of commencement regalia,
diplomas and covers, the yearbook, the commencement reception, and other graduation-related
expenses. The $165 fee will be charged to your account within 10-15 business days.
The fee for late applications after the deadline is $225. Please obtain, complete
and submit your application by the application deadlines:
Fall - October 1
Spring - February 1
Summer - June 15
If you are unsure about your graduation status, review your degree audit or seek advising
from your preceptor or the Center for Academic Advising. If your graduation application is denied, you will need to reapply at the beginning
of the term in which you plan to complete your degree requirements.
Grad Finale - CANCELED
Grad Finale on April 20 and 21 has been canceled. The University is currently reviewing all options for regalia distribution and we hope to have a plan in place soon. We thank you for your patience while we work through this.
Graduate Toast - CANCELED
Graduate Toast on April 23 has been canceled. We are developing plans for a celebratory event in the fall.
The University is planning a two-phase celebration for the Class of 2020. The first component will be a virtual event to celebrate your success on May 15, 2020. This will be followed in fall 2020 by a more traditional ceremony that brings us back together. Details about both events will follow in the coming weeks.
