 Get To Know Philadelphia

Philadelphia Skyline

Take a Tour
Tour Philadelphia through (25) twenty-five narrated steps of prominent areas within this beautiful city.

Neighborhoods of Philadelphia
Just like New York City, Philadelphia is grouped into neighborhoods all known for certain features and packed with things to do! Where would you live?

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens
An immersive mixed media art environment where creator, Issiah Zagar, devoted his time and efforts to beautify the South Street neighborhood.

Franklin Institute @ Home
For those who need to feed their curiosity about science!  The Franklin Institute aims to inspire a passion for science and technology, and has generated a virtual series to keep your interests peaked and feed that curiosity about science, experiments, recipes - and more!

Independence Hall
This historic location is where both the United States Declaration of Independence and Constitution were debated and adopted. For now, checkout this virtual tour, but it’s surely a sight to add to your “must see” list as Philadelphia has many historic sites about our country's beginnings.

Eastern State Penitentiary
Eastern State Penitentiary (ESP) was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but now stands in ruin. Quick note, in the Fall ESP opens their doors to six scary attractions to ring in the Halloween season.

NOTE: This highlights only a FEW places within Philadelphia offering virtual amenities during this time, but the city itself is full of numerous opportunities, experiences and places to explore history, arts and beauty throughout every neighborhood.

Interview Tips

The Walt Disney Company is well known for their top-notch customer service by creating emotional connections with each of their customers. See below a correlation between a trip to Disney World and interviewing tips for our Class of 2020.

Know important Disney terms before you go so you can be in the know and talk the talk. Here are a few to get you started but learn more.

ADR – Advanced Dining Reservations
AK – Animal Kingdom
MK – Magic Kingdom
CM – Cast Member
EMH – Extra Magic Hours

For more Disney acronym examples:  Click Here.

  • When applying for a position, be sure to customize your resume with industry terms and language used on the job description. Be sure to incorporate that language in your interview as well.

As with any trip, make sure your itinerary is all set and booked with the correct information.

Have someone in your traveling party double check your confirmation numbers and reservations before you depart! Two sets of eyes are better than one!

  • When applying for a job, make sure all your information is filled out in its entirety and correctly. Double check application instructions and details before you submit.
  • Sometimes two sets of eyes are better than one. Have a Career Advisor, family member or friend review your resume and application materials before you submit. If submitted with errors, it's likely that you wont be considered for the positions.

When venturing to Disney properties, there’s a feel or expectation everyone has.

  • Research and understand the company, culture and dress code policy.
  • Dress in professional attire for an interview. Professional Attire = Business Suit!

Book advanced dining reservations 180 days out and fast passes 60 days ahead.

  • Assess, research and prepare for an interview. All the answers are online so be sure to take the time to learn about the company, find out what they value and plan to incorporate that information into your responses.
  • Practice your answers to common interview questions (i.e. tell me a little bit about yourself and why are you interested in this position?).

Be prepared for a long day of fun ahead - pack lunches, sunscreen, sunglasses, or a rain jacket if needed.

Bring copies of your resume, a notebook and pen.

Arrive before park opening to maximize your day and get on all the attractions!

Always arrive 10-15 minutes early to prepare yourself.

You are soon entering “The Most Magical Place on Earth”!

If you got an interview, the company already thinks you are a fit for the job! Go in with confidence!

Be sure to smile and bring energy exhibiting you want the position you are interviewing for.

The Walt Disney Company has numerous accomplishments and attractions to boast about to potential visitors. These proven examples are what draws visitors to Disney properties. Tie your answers back to your skills and accomplishments. With any question you answer, it is important that you tie your background to the job by providing examples of solutions and results you’ve achieved. Use every opportunity to address the requirements listed in the job description.
