Important Message following Governor's Executive Order

Dear Stockton community,

On behalf of President Kesselman, and in accordance with the March 16, 2020 Executive Order from Governor Murphy, the University will expand the pool of employees who will telecommute and also will adopt flexible schedules during the coronavirus crisis in an effort in order to reduce on-campus staff to a limited number of employees.

Members of Cabinet will meet today and tomorrow with their direct reports to formulate and communicate plans regarding on-campus schedules and work-from-home assignments. Each employee’s direct supervisor will then discuss their individual details and circumstances with them. Plans will be effective beginning Wednesday, March 18, and will remain in place until further notice. Because this is a constantly evolving situation, we will continue to follow the direction of public health officials and will adjust and extend this policy as necessary.

Employees who must be physically present on campus to perform their job duties (for example, Police and some Facilities and Operations staff) may not be eligible for certain flexible work arrangements, including telecommuting. The University will make all reasonable efforts to offer flexible work arrangements to all employees consistent with the operational needs of the University.

We recognize that there will be significant implications for campus operations, and we will provide further guidance within the next 24 hours.

Thank you in advance for your support. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in working through this challenging set of circumstances to ensure the continued operation of the University.

Susan Davenport
Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff
