Nacote Creek Building 504 Water Shut-Off – Thursday, June 20th, 2019 from 8:00am – 2:00pm

Nacote Creek Building 504 will be without water from approximately 8:00am – 2:00pm on Thursday, June 20th, 2019 in order to upgrade a well pump.

CC-Wing Receiving Area – Removal of Transite Panel Trash Enclosure – June 10th – June 14th, 2019

Beginning Monday, June 10th, 2019, a contractor will be on-site to remove the Transite panel trash enclosure located in the CC-Wing receiving area. We anticipate the removal to be completed by Friday, June 14th. This location along College Walk, next to B-Wing, will be blocked off for the duration of the project.  Please use caution when traveling in this area.

Temporary Water Disruption – E-Wing through H-Wing (Building 31) – June 9th, 2019

Building 32, I-M Wings & The PAC – Hot Water Interruption

Due to mechanical issues, there is an interruption of hot water in Building 32, I – M Wings and the Performing Arts Center. Our HVAC technicians are working diligently to rectify the situation: however, it may be a few days before the hot water is restored. We will provide you with an update once the repair is complete.

C & D-Wing Roof Replacement Project – 5/20/19–7/26/19

USA Contractors began delivering supplies earlier this week in preparation for the commencement of the C & D-Wing Roof Replacement Project. Demolition will begin on Monday, May 20, 2019. We anticipate construction to last for approximately ten weeks, concluding on or around July 26, 2019. During this time there may be intermittent periods of noise. In an effort to decrease the disruption to those in the area, some work has been scheduled to occur at night.

Additionally, the project requires the utilization of heavy machinery, including lifts. It is important to steer clear of the construction area and all associated equipment.

Campus Center Power Washing – 5/20/19—5/22/19

Power Washing Pro is scheduled to power wash the Campus Center (Building 50) exterior beginning Monday, May 20, 2019 continuing through Wednesday, May 22, 2019. The contractors will be utilizing a lift throughout this process. Please remain alert and use caution when traveling in this area.

West Quad Power Washing – 5/22/19

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Bethany Associates Inc. is scheduled to power wash the exterior walls of West Quad (Building 34).  In preparation, a lift will be delivered on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, and will remain stationed near the lower retaining wall.  Please use caution when traveling in this area.

Water Outage – Atlantic City Campus – 5/15/19

The Atlantic City Campus is presently without water service due to a water main pipe on Albany Avenue being hit during construction. As this also affects the fire suppression system, the Stockton Police Department is currently holding a fire watch at both the Residential and Academic buildings.

The AC Office of Emergency Management has advised that water is anticipated to be restored within three (3) hours.

Alton Auditorium Closed – 5/13/19–5/20/19

Beginning 6:00 am on Monday, May 13, 2019, the Elizabeth B. Alton Auditorium will be closed while the stage floor is refinished.  The Auditorium will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday, May 20, 2019.

Health Sciences Center Rooftop Unit Repairs/Construction Crane in Parking Lot 1 – 5/14/19, 4:00 am - 11:00 am

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, repairs are scheduled for the Health Sciences Center rooftop unit, which will require the utilization of a construction crane.  The crane will impede the flow of traffic for a portion of Parking Lot 1. We anticipate the work to begin at 4:00am and be completed by 11:00am.

Nacote Creek Well Pump Maintenance – Buildings 501 & 508 – 4/12/19

The water supply to Nacote Creek buildings 501 and 508 will be restricted on Friday, April 12th from approximately 9:00 am until 12:00 pm to perform maintenance to the well pump that services the site.

On Thursday, April 4th from approximately 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Premier Roofing will be on-site overseeing infrared scanning of the Housing 1 roofs, A-Court through H-Court.

Extended: Emergency Roof Repairs to the Sports Center (Building 41) – 3/27/19–4/26/19

Prep and repairs to the Sports Center (Building 41) roof began March 27th and will now continue through April 26th. Occupants of the building may experience some noise disruption during this time period. Please note, contractors will suspend work on Sunday, April 7th and Wednesday, April 10th, so as to allow the University’s Open House program and the Drinking and Driving Teen Summit 2019 to remain undisturbed.

Atlantic City Hydrant Flushing – 3/25/19

On Monday, March 25th, 2019, the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (ACMUA) is scheduled to flush fire hydrants, which will affect both the Residential and Academic buildings in Atlantic City. During this time, individuals may temporarily experience a minor discoloration of water. Should this occur, please run the water for a few moments until it clears.

Today there will be an electrical shutdown of H-Wing, 200 level. We anticipate the power to be restored by 5:00 pm tomorrow (Saturday, March 16th).

Main Campus Electrical Shutdown – 12/28/18, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Please be advised, the Division of Facilities & Operations is coordinating an electrical shut-down for the majority of the Galloway Campus on Friday, December 28th, 2018. The shut-down will commence at approximately 7:00 am. We anticipate power to be restored by 5:30 pm.  During this time, all affected buildings should be vacated. Please see the attached map.

Buildings with no power:

  • Arts & Sciences Building
  • A – N-Wings, including the Performing Arts Center
  • Campus Center
  • Housing 2 & 3 Residential Life Complexes, including the TRLC
  • The Sports Center (Big Blue)

Unified Science Center 1, Unified Science Center 2 and the Health Sciences Center will remain powered but will not have phone or internet access.

Should you intend to work at the Galloway Campus on the 28th, please notify Karen Tierney in the Office of Human Resources no later than 5:00 pm on Monday, December 17th so you may be relocated.

Please be advised, there is currently a power outage along Pomona Road. 

The locations affected include Free to Be Daycare, Parking Lots 8A, 8B, 8C, 9C and the Athletic Complex.

We anticipate power restoration between 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm this evening.

The Department of Engineering & Energy Management, in conjunction with the NJ Board of Public Utilities Clean Energy Program, is in the process of performing an Energy Audit of Stockton University’s Galloway campus.

Over the next several weeks, representatives will be walking through the buildings, on the main campus, to inventory energy intensive equipment.  The goal is to obtain a baseline energy use for each building and determine where energy savings opportunities may be found.

Disruption to the Air-conditioning in L-Wing – 6/12/18–6/14/18

The HVAC unit servicing L-Wing requires immediate repair. In turn, this section, with the exception of the Round Room, will be without air-conditioning for the next three days.

Unified Science Center I – Central Air Disruption

Please be advised, as part of the chiller replacement project for USC I, on Friday, May 18th there will be a disruption to the central air in this building. 

Weather permitting, this may result in warmer temperatures so kindly plan accordingly. We expect to have the system back in operation by the end of the day.

Please be advised, between May 21st and June 10th there will be repairs and upgrades made to the Sports Center’s piping infrastructure. Construction will be taking place in the paved area between the Center and Building 42.

During this time, there will also be construction occurring on the 1st floor of Big Blue. Expect sections to be blocked off throughout the project. As always, kindly use caution when traveling through these spaces.

South Cell Tower Additional Construction – Road & Lot Closure

Please be advised, beginning tomorrow, January 10th at 7:30 am the South Cell Tower foundation excavation will begin.  The work will continue until 4:00 pm on Friday, January 12th. This specific location is near the G. Larry James Stadium, which is adjacent to the Sports Center (Big Blue). 

During this time the access road behind Housing 2 will closed to thru traffic, since large equipment will be brought in.  The parking along this road will also be unavailable.  We recommend using Lot 7 as an alternative.

Temporary Closure at the Entrance to Lot 4

Please be advised, on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 between 7:00 am and 10:30 am, the entrance to Lot 4 from Vera King Farris Drive to the first drive into Lot 5 will be closed to traffic. During this time fire pump tests will be taking place for the new United Science Center II Building. These tests will produce large amounts of water that will run onto the roadway, so kindly plan accordingly.

Building 41 & 42 Generator Testing

Unified Science Center I Electrical Shutdown

We would like to inform you that beginning at 6:00 am on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 electricity will temporarily be shut down in the Unified Science Center I and is expected to last roughly 14 to 16 hours. This shutdown will allow the contractor to connect electric feeders to the two new buildings for the Quad Project.

Generator power will be utilized for the USCI throughout the shutdown process protecting critical components servicing the building. It is recommended that faculty and staff who work in the USCI save all computer work prior to the shutdown.

There will be various contractor work areas during these operations:

  • One on Vera King Farris Drive near the dam
  • One at the entrance to Lot 1
  • One at the entrance to Lot 4
  • Two on the project site

Road closures are not expected during this work; however, Vera King Farris Drive will be reduced to one lane from Parking Lot 1 to Parking Lot 4. Please use caution when in these areas. Campus Police will be assisting with traffic control.

We would like to inform you that beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will be conducting a controlled burn behind the water plant. This controlled burn is a part of Stockton University’s master forestry plan and is in conjunction with the State Fire Service.

Please note, if the weather changes to unfavorable conditions, the controlled burn will be postponed.
