Ellen BaileyGeneral Counsel

Ellen Bailey serves as General Counsel for Stockton University, where she provides legal guidance on a broad range of institutional mater and supports the University’s commitment to academic excellence, compliance and community engagement.

Before joining Stockton, Ms. Bailey practiced at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC in Philadelphia, focusing on business litigation, including commercial disputes, mass torts, and product liability. She previously served as an assistant prosecutor with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, and completed judicial clerkships with Justice John E. Wallace, Jr. (ret.) of the New Jersey Supreme Court and Justice Yvonne Mokgoro of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

Ms. Bailey earned her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her B.A. from Drew University. She is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Supreme Court. Her professional affiliations include the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations; the National Bar Association - Women Lawyers Division, Philadelphia Chapter. She is also a member of the Atlantic City (NJ) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated, and several other community service organizations.
