Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, October 14th, 2025

FHS Monthly Meeting (ZOOM) Start Time: 6:39pm

Present: Tula Christopoulos; Mariea Kazantzis; Katherine Panagakos; Tom Papademetriou (had to leaving early; Andrew Rafael; Luisa Spinella (for Exploring Hellenism discussion.)

April Minutes: Tom moved; Cathy seconded. Approved.

Financial Report: to October 14, 2025

  • Payroll giving were the only transactions since last Balance: $165,851.00.

Scholarship Updates: Katherine.

  • She has a student going to Thessaloniki who will receive $1,500: Philosophy major; took Latin and Ancient Greek with Katherine.
  • Cathy responded to scholarship approval Katherine did not hear back from Sophia.
  • Names will be sent to
  • She mentioned two Asia Minor Studies students will receive their scholarship
  • Mariea mentioned Andrew’s interest in auditing a Hellenic Studies
    • Katherine clarified that he can but has to pay for

Pappas Hellenic Center Report: Tom.

  • Greek-American music event in Philadelphia was a
    • Christopher King facilitated; live band enhanced the
  • NYC bus trip: Show (Hadestown) and dinner (Greek Kitchen).
    • 10:30am to 9:30pm
    • Stockton students with valid ID: $50.
    • Community members: $130.
    • Tom will order 40 tickets: 20 for students; 20 for
    • Sarah will make up the
    • GOOGLE registration; Use Katherine’s
    • Limited menu selections

Exploring Hellenism:

  • Theme: Magna Graecia: Hellenism in Greece and

  • Food: heavy hors d’oeuvres reflecting the
  • Katherine will give a 25 minute historical
  • Invite President Joe to play Luisa will ask the band.

  • We will try to get an iconic symbol representing the region to use on invitation, tickets, Andrew will work on it.
