Policy Concentration and Sustainability Management Concentration
Sustainability students pursuing a BA can focus their studies on either Policy or Sustainability Management.
Students in the Policy concentration undertake a rigorous curriculum intended to prepare
them for work in environmental advocacy, planning, environmental law, government,
sustainable development, and related fields. The core of the concentration curates
skills and knowledge in a variety of essential disciplines: Planning, including tools
and strategies for environmental stewardship; Natural resource management and the
legal, political, and economic factors that shape land use, and; Global sustainability,
which encompasses issues of international law and global social justice. Internships
are available with state and local government, local Green Teams, nonprofits and advocacy
Sustainability Management Concentration
This concentration is meant for students interested in growing the green economy.
Sustainability Management students gain the experience and knowledge to develop an
economic framework that blends environmental and social justice into sustainable business
practices. The coursework includes training in management, green finance and accounting,
sustainable supply chain management, sustainable marketing, and green entrepreneurship.
Students complete internships with major companies like Shoprite and PSEG as well
as medium and small businesses.
