Live Your Passion: Cultivating a Dynamic Nonprofit Organization

In this 5-part series, participants will learn the vitally important roles the nonprofit organization (NP) plays in the community, especially in the areas of health and human services, healthcare, education, arts and culture, the environment, and religion. In the United States, there are more than 1.5 million nonprofits which generate almost $900 billion dollars annually, yet there is much misunderstanding of the essential roles nonprofits play in the community. Each week this course will explore the organizational, programmatic, legal, societal, and interpersonal nature of nonprofit organizations and illuminates various avenues of understanding and managing the sector's complexity. Additional course objectives will stress the need for entrepreneurial administration, strategic planning, oversight, financial stability, communications, and ethics. As a class, we will problem solve specific issues of the participants' organizations, as well as better manage the underlying barriers to mission success.
