Fair Trade Show
Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment (SAVE) is partnering with the South Jersey Fair Trade Alliance (SJFTA) once again to host the 9th Annual International Gift Fair. The event is free and open to the public and will feature local merchants selling fair trade products offered by volunteers and local nonprofit organizations that offer alternative gift options and information on local vendors. "Small Island" Film Screening

"Checkpoint Charlie Foundation" Partnership Presentation and Brown Bag Lunch (Faculty Only)

This Berlin based foundation, founded in 1994 by the Berlin State Legislature was created for the purpose of developing and maintaining German-America relations. This non-profit and non-partisan Foundation promotes and organizes educational exchanges of faculty and students of both countries. Dr. Andrea Mehrlander, the Executive Director of Checkpoint Charlie Foundation, will give a short presentation about the partnership possibility and the various programs the Foundation has to offer, most highly recommended for Holocaust & Genocide Studies, as well as Education, Social Work, International and Environmental Studies. "Les Visiteurs" French Comedy Viewing
Would you like to practice your French? Then come to the viewing of this comedy about a medieval nobleman and his squire who are accidentally transported to contemporary times by a senile sorcerer. The noblemen enlists the aid of his descendent to try to find a way to return home, all the while trying to cope with the cultural and technological changes distinguishing his time from ours. "Amazing China" The Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University
A 160 year old form of traditional Chinese theater, Beijing Opera combines music, vocal performance, mime, dancing and acrobatics into a performance like no other. With the use of elaborate and colorful costumes performers utilize the skills of speech, song, dance and combat to bring to us this cultural treasure of China. "Origami Mathematics Lessons" Workshop
In this lesson the ancient Japanese tradition of origami is presented not only as an art form but as an education tool, used to teach students about the culture and history of origami and to showcase the art of paperfolding as a method to teach mathematical concepts. Poster Fair - a visual presentation of enlightening global knowledge applicable to all areas of study is paired with the GeoDome - an inflatable, portable, immersive visualization dome with the entire interior surface acting as a 3-D projection screen. Whether you want to take a trip to countries and monuments anywhere in the world while inside The GeoDome or want to learn more about Stockton's own student, faculty and staff international involvement projects this event is for you. U.N. Guest Speaker: Claudia Diaz, Human Rights Officer from the Office of Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect 
Speaker will give a presentation about the prevention of genocide. Claudia Diaz currently works as a Human Rights Officer with the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect. Prior to this position, she spent 10 years working with the U.N. in different conflict and post-conflict countries, such as Guatemala, Nepal, Sudan (Darfur), Timor-Leste and Venezuela. Her work focused on issues related to international human rights law and international humanitarian law, including investigations into allegations of violations of those norms. Ms. Diaz has also held positions with the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the national human rights institution of Afghanistan. She holds an advanced degree in Law and a Masters in Human Rights and Democratization.

Fulbright Opportunities for Study and Research Abroad
Lecture will explore the Fulbright U.S. Student Program which offers fellowships to U.S. graduating seniors, graduate students and young professionals and artists to study abroad for one academic year, as well as the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program that sends American scholars, professionals and artists to lecture and/or conduct research abroad for up to one year. The U.S. Department of State Diplomat in Residence Speaker Patricia Guy
Patricia Guy is a Foreign Service Officer located in New York Metro Area. Her last position with the Department of State was the Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, Romania. As the Diplomat in Residence (DiR) her responsibility is to provide guidance and advice for students, professionals and the community about the Department careers. She will speak about the Department career opportunities, answer questions and share insight into the Foreign and Civil Service careers, internships and fellowships. Transforming Conflict and Building Global Peace Through Art: Printmaking and Storytelling with Combat Paper NJ
As part of the peace-building lecture series, Professor Jessica Bonnan-White will host Professor David Keefe's lecture about "healing through art" - a way of recovering from the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), where veterans can take their old uniforms, shred them, and subsequently turn them into pieces of art. "U.N. Millennium Development Goals" Panel Discussion
The U.N. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are a set of goals with measurable indicators developed by the United Nations in coordination with development organizations, member states, and NGO's. Some of the Goals include eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, and promoting gender equality and empowering women. This interdisciplinary panel will discuss the progress of the MDGs up to now, the controversy over the 2015 target date, criticisms of the MDGs as they were designed and implemented, and recommendations for their replacement after they expire in 2015.
