The Office of Event Services & Campus Center Operations offers work opportunities designed to help off-set the cost of education while providing students with valuable work experience. The Office of Event Services & Campus Center Operations depends on the contributions of this reliable workforce for the efficient operation of the Office and Campus Center facility. ELIGIBILITY:

  1. Must be actively enrolled as a regularly matriculated student with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  2. Due to conflicting training dates and other obligations, preference is given to students who are not already committed as a T.A.L.O.N.S., Residential Assistant, or student athlete.
  3. Work Study is not required, but Work Study students are eligible.

Event Services:

Event Services Assistants (ESAs) work in the Office of Event Services & Campus Center Operations (Campus Center Suite 241) and are supervised by the Program Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and greet/assist guests at the front desk.
  • Assist with event inventory requests/returns.
  • Maintain kiosks/bulletin boards & event related signage (posting/removing flyers/banners).
  • Utilize online resources for finding information about events (25Live platform and campus webpage).
  • Pick up and deliver mail/packages to the mailroom. File and shred confidential documents.
  • Provide on-site assistance at events when requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Hours of Employment:

7-10 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an office setting and computer skills beneficial.
  • Must be reliable, friendly and responsible.
  • Excellent phone etiquette a must.

Compensation:

$15.92 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes the 25Live scheduling system to reserve facilities and support services for campus events.
  • Develops room layout diagrams through the use of Social Tables.
  • Initiates work order requests through established e-mail distribution lists and the use of the School Dude on-line work order system.
  • Assists with event planning meetings and workshop presentations for student clubs and organizations.
  • Provides on-site assistance at events (greets guests, directs guests to event locations, decorates and adjusts room setups as needed.)
  • Attends mandatory training sessions.

The Marketing Technician works in the Office of Event Services & Campus Center Operations (Campus Center Suite 241) and is supervised by the Coordinator of Event Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating, designing and managing the scheduling of messages for the campus LED signs located on Vera King Farris Drive.
  • Creating, designing and managing the scheduling of messages on the campus television messaging system that airs on Channel 130.1.
  • Assist with editing content and images on the University web event calendar through 25Live.
  • Designing and editing Power point Presentations, instructional videos, room layout diagrams and publications.
  • Office support as needed to greet guests, schedule events in 25Live, answer the telephone, and run errands.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Hours of Employment:

Shift hours may vary (approximately 10 hours per week).

Availability to work 10 hours a week during regular office hours of operation:

Academic year: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Qualifications: 

Must be enrolled as a Stockton student during period of employment. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After-Effects, and Microsoft PowerPoint required. Experience with Camtasia a plus. Familiarity with manipulating and converting jpg, gif, bitmap, flv, avi and mov files.

This single semester academic internship experience reports to the Executive Director of Event Services and Campus Engagement and receives daily supervision and direction from the Coordinator of Event Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes a capstone Management Project for a credit bearing HTMS Internship course requirement.
  • Utilizes the 25LIVE scheduling system to reserve facilities and support services for campus events.
  • Develops room layout diagrams with the use of Social Tables.
  • Initiates work order requests through established e-mail distribution lists and use of School Dude on-line work order software.
  • Assists with event planning meetings and workshop presentations for student clubs and organizations.
  • Maintains a shadow training experience with software technology related to the Hospitality Industry for HTMS students and faculty.
  • Provides on-site assistance at events (greet guests, direct guests to event locations, decorates and adjusts room setups as needed.)
  • Attends mandatory training sessions.(January/February/April/August/October/December)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Campus Center Operations:

Operations Assistants work at the Campus Center Information Desk and Game Room and are supervised by the Facility Coordinator, Campus Center Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver information, ticketing, and lost and found services to students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Manage a switchboard to answer and/or re-direct incoming phone calls
  • Provide on-site facility management including the enforcement of facility- and program-related policies
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility by conducting walkthroughs and reporting/ responding to emergencies, injuries, damaged/missing property, and incidents
  • Provide event support, including guest relations and audio-visual setup and troubleshooting
  • Supervise Game Room operations and manage equipment rentals
  • Assist with the implementation of Campus Center-sponsored programs

Length of Employment:

  • One semester commitment with an opportunity for renewal with satisfactory performance and evaluation.

Compensation:

  • $15.92 per hour

Work Hours:

  • Varies; minimum 8 hours per week with some weekend and late evening shifts (until 12AM) required

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment as a matriculated student in an undergraduate or graduate program at Stockton University with a minimum of 6 credits per semester during the period of employment.
  • Must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 during the period of employment

Responsibilities:

The Graduate Coordinator for Campus Center Operations, under the overall supervision of the Director of Campus Center Operations and the daily supervision of the Facility Coordinator for Campus Center Operations is responsible for the following:

  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify, respond to and report conditions, concerns and incidents.
  • Assist with the supervision of student staff and provide front-line support in the absence of full-time staff.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of a student employment program to include recruitment, training, team building initiatives, community service projects, assessment, and recognition programs.
  • Plan and/or execute programs that promote the Campus Center as an inviting and inclusive destination for the campus community, including logistics, budget tracking, marketing and assessment.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to promote Campus Center programs and services, increase visibility and enhance engagement.
  • Review event confirmations for clarity and completeness, provide additional instructions and file documents to support Information Desk staff.
  • Monitor equipment and supply inventories, report needs and coordinate restocking.
  • Support Lost & Found operations by managing storage and contacting property owners.
  • Provide back-up support for the Information Desk and Game Room operations to ensure continuity of services and customer support.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrollment as a matriculated student in a graduate program at Stockton University with a minimum of 6 credits per semester during the period of employment
  • Must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 during the period of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills

Work Hours

  • Varies; 10-20 hours per week (primarily evenings and weekends; some hours during University breaks may be required)

Compensation:

  • $19.50 per hour
